Honestly? I’ve always been a beach girl who loves beauty. It all started with me chasing my passion for making people feel amazing while trying to keep the sand from my toes! I wanted to bring that laid-back, beachy vibe to bridal hair and makeup, and boom—Salty Skin + Hair was born. It’s been a wild ride ever since!
What inspired you to focus on bridal hair and makeup services?
There’s just something about weddings—the excitement, the joy, the chance to make someone feel like a queen on their big day. Plus, I’m obsessed with happy tears and perfect hair, so bridal work was a natural fit. There's no better feeling than knowing you were part of someone’s best day ever.
What do you love most about working with brides on their wedding day?
The energy! Everyone’s hyped up, there's love in the air, and I get to be part of that magic. Plus, I love seeing a bride’s face light up when she sees herself all glammed up for the first time. It’s like—yes girl, you are straight fire.
Can you describe your process when working with a bride from consultation to wedding day? What can brides expect when they hire you?
We like to keep things chill and stress-free—that’s why we make it a priority to provide you with as much information as possible up front and throughout the planning process. From the first chat, we’re all about communication. We’ll talk about your vision, do a trial to make sure you’re obsessed with your look, and then on the big day, we show up ready to slay! You’ll know exactly what to expect every step of the way, so there’s zero stress—just good vibes and flawless glam.
Galveston Island is such a unique location for weddings. How does living and working on the island influence your work?
Galveston is a vibe all its own—sun, surf, and salt air. We’ve mastered the art of beach-proof glam because, girl, you know the Gulf humidity can be ruthless. Working on the island means we get to bring a laid-back, island-yet-glamorous twist to everything we do, and we know exactly how to keep your hair from turning into a frizz ball!
What are the current trends you're seeing in bridal hair and makeup? Any particular styles that brides are loving right now?
It’s all about that effortless, "I woke up like this" glam right now. Soft waves, natural makeup with a pop of glow—it’s like you're the best version of yourself, but not trying too hard. Brides are also loving boho braids and those chic, messy buns that look like you just rolled out of bed (but in the best way possible!).
As the owner of Salty Skin + Hair, how do you manage your team of artists to ensure each bride gets the best experience possible?
I keep it simple: hire amazing people and trust them to do their thing! We’re like a little family, and my team is holding it down like pros. We train hard, work hard, and we always bring good vibes and laughter to every wedding. It’s like a party before the party!
Tell us about your team! What makes them stand out, and how do they contribute to making wedding days special?
I’ve got an amazing team! My master makeup artist has been with me for years—she’s my saving grace and always delivers perfection. We’ve also brought on another master combo artist for both hair and makeup, and two junior artists who are wrapping up their apprenticeships soon. On top of that, we’re super lucky to have a large network of talented artists that we can call on for big events or when some of our regular girls aren’t available. So, no matter what, we’ve got you covered!
You've had the opportunity to work with local and destination brides. What are some unique challenges or advantages when working with destination weddings in Galveston?
Destination weddings are super fun, but yeah, they can be tricky! The weather? Total wildcard. You’re either battling heat, wind, or a rogue seagull (seriously, it happens). But the advantage? Our team knows how to roll with it and still make you look flawless no matter what the island throws at us. We’ve got all the tricks.

Humidity is not your friend, so less is more when it comes to product! We recommend beachy waves or loose updos because they’re forgiving if the wind picks up. For makeup, it’s all about that setting spray and waterproof everything. And don’t forget the blotting papers—you’ll thank me later.
