Kelsey + Heeth’s Love Story

Kelsey and Heeth planned their wedding in under a month. While Heeth is local, Kelsey is from Alberta, Canada, and with their busy lives (they LOVE traveling together) a big wedding was not a priority, but they still wanted to mark the special day.

Heeth started checking local venues to see what stood out and wouldn’t feel too big for their small guest list of about 20 people. After looking into the many beautiful inns we have on the island, they settled on the 1859 Ashton Villa.

With their venue nailed down, they ordered a bouquet, ceremony arrangements, and centerpieces from Knapp Flower Shop, and BBQ from a local caterer. Since Ashton Villa in managed by the Galveston Historical Foundation and requires a TABC certified bartender if alcohol will be served, they hired from the GHS recommended list.

While Heeth worked to set up their welcome table full of photos of their epic travels together, Kelsey got her hair and makeup done, and got ready with her mom and sister. She didn’t skimp on a wedding dress, and found an absolute stunner that she bought off the rack!

Their ceremony and reception were so full of love and laughter. Kelsey’s family flew in from Alberta to be there for the celebration. Both families welcomed their new in-law into the family with speeches and toasts. A special photo of Heeth’s late brother was put out at the reception in a place on honor.

Since they are both photographer lovers they knew they wanted professional photos of their event. But they also brought along an instant camera that anyone could grab and use throughout their reception to get candids. They had an incredible stack of instant memories by the end of the night!
